The First Italian Regional Conference on Complex Systems is the flagship event of CSS/Italy to promote the dissemination of Complexity Science and interdisciplinary scholarly exchange for complex systems researchers and practitioners in Italy.
CCS/Italy 2019 will focus on cutting edge research topics with high societal impact from the perspective of Complexity Science. Special attention is given to facilitating the professional growth of students, postdocs and early-career faculty in the Italian territory.
The Conference will be held in the Center for Information and Communication Technology at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Povo, Trento).

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Submissions for oral contributions and poster presentations on complex systems research are welcome. Topics covered by the Conference include, but are not limited to:

Submissions should be made as a single PDF file via EasyChair, in extended abstract format (1 page, including at most one figure and references). Submissions will be evaluated and selected through a rigorous peer review process.

CSS/Italy Young Scientist Award
The Prize has been established by the Italian Chapter of the complex system society and is aimed at recognizing outstanding achievements of scientists at early stages of their career who carry on their research activity in the field of Complexity in the Italian territory. The recipients must be no more than seven years past PhD on July 1, 2016, and are expected to have displayed significant achievement and exceptional promise for future achievements in Complex Systems science (see topics in CCS/Italy 2019). The Prize will be awarded by an international committee of established scientists and will consist of a certificate citing the contributions made by the recipient, a Medal, a book, a 1-year CSS membership, a waived registration for the CCS/Italy 2019 and a waiver worth 2,100$ to publish in the journal Complexity.
The nominations should arrive at italy.css@gmail.com by 30 April 2019 and must be accompanied by a description of the work of the Young Scientist. The document will consist of at least one and no more than two typed pages which will include a list of no more than half a dozen key publications by the nominee. Nominations will be sent by a principal nominator and names of other nominators will be included in the nomination letter. A nominator can be the principal nominator for only one nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted.
